Burano, an island in the Venice lagoon:
Sassolungo, as seen from Passo Sella, near val di Fassa, in the Italian Alps (i Dolomiti). This is near the towns of Canazei and Campitello.
The Sassolungo peak is 3181m. Where we were standing, at the Sella pass, we were already at 2214m.
Along the Fondamenta Zattere, in Dorsoduro, Venice. View from our hotel window after an evening storm. Note the high level of the water spilling over onto the walkway. The canal is La Guidecca, which is more like a river that opens onto the lagoon. The large boat in the upper right is docked at the maritime station, and the passenger boat in the foreground is the water bus to the airport.
